Eddie Murphy gravou duas músicas com a participação do rapper Snoop Lion que, de acordo com o comediante, são hinos à maconha.

O astro de 52 anos – que lançou as faixas ‘Party All the Time’ e ‘Put Your Mouth on Me’ em meados de 1980 – fez uma parceira com o rapper, anteriormente conhecido como Snoop Dogg, e gravou dois singles sobre maconha para seu próximo álbum intitulado ’9′ – Nine.

Falando à revista [ Rolling Stones ], Eddie contou:

“Fizemos duas faixas. Na verdade, fizemos uma música que é exatamente o novo hino da maconha. A música chamada ‘Mellow Miss Mary’. Snoop é tipo o governador da erva! E eu o queria na música”.

“‘Mellow Miss Mary’ soa como uma linda canção de amor para essa garota chamada Mary. Mas quando você ouve, é tipo, ‘Ei, cara. Mary é um baseado?”, completou.

A outra faixa gravada em parceria com o rapper foi intitulada ‘Red Lights’.

O músico de 42 anos é conhecido por sua fama de ‘maconheiro’, mas Eddie garante que não fumou com Snoop durante as gravações no estúdio, porque a sala já estava “buzzing” (zumbindo, na tradução literal) – fazendo referência a uma gíria em inglês para os chapados.

“Não [fumei]. A sala já estava ‘buzzing’ quando Snoop chegou lá”, brincou

O lançamento do disco ’9′ está previsto para o início de 2014.
